“The A.A. groups themselves ought to be fully supported by the voluntary contributions of their own members. We think that each group should soon achieve this ideal; that any public solicitation of funds using the name of Alcoholics Anonymous is highly dangerous, whether by groups, clubs, hospitals, or other agencies; that acceptance of large gifts from any source, or of contributions carrying any obligation whatever, is unwise. Then too, we view with much concern those A.A. treasuries, which continue, beyond prudent reserves, to accumulate funds for not stated A.A. purpose. Experience has often warned us that nothing can so surely destroy our spiritual heritage as futile disputes over property, money and authority.”
Contributions are accepted only from members of Alcoholics Anonymous. By contributing you certify you are a member of A.A. and/or you are contributing on behalf of your Meeting or Group and agree to provide your Group or Meeting name, the day of the week, the time of the Meeting, and the city in which your Group meets.

Los Angeles Central Office is looking for AA members to answer phones at the office.
We get calls every day and night from people trying to get sober, wanting to know where a meeting is, visitors to our area – and we need people to answer these calls!
Phone volunteers typically work a 4 hour shift twice a month, and our schedules are flexible.

LACO is a non-profit organization, a 501(c)(3). We serve A.A. groups by doing the work individual groups don’t do. We endeavor to staff phone volunteers 24 hours a day. LACO hosts Central Service Representative Zone Meetings, the Central Service Committee and Intergroup Meetings, and other meetings as scheduled.
