You, Your Meeting or Group, CSRs, Zones, Central Service and Intergroup
The purpose of Central Office is to support the meetings in the Los Angeles area and this upside down pyramid shows how the ultimate authority is the wide base of individual AA members. By way of Central Service Representatives (CSRs) groups communicate with the Zone Delegate who in-turn are the voice of the Zones to the members of the Central Service Committee. At Intergroup the CSRs vote the conscious of each group. See and print our meeting directory pages about Central Service Representatives, Zone Meeting times and locations, and the Southern California Zone Map:
The monthly Central Service Committee Meeting is always held the second Thursday of each month at 7 PM at Los Angeles Central Office, except May and November, the months Intergroup meets at 7 PM at the United Methodist Church at 4350 Wilshire Blvd., between Plymouth and Lucerne (the parking lot entrance is on Wilshire), also on the second Thursday. All AAs are welcome.
Los Angeles Central Office is responsible to the groups and meetings of Los Angeles by way of the Central Service Committee and this structure and the purpose of LACO is to provide services to support the groups and meetings such as the print and online Meeting Directories, AA literature at the lowest possible cost, and a place from which the community phone support service is provided.
Monthly Zone meetings are attended by CSR’s and the Zone Delegates; the Central Service Committee and its Board Members, meet the 2nd Thursday of each month at Los Angeles Central Office, except in May and November when the Intergroup Association, CSC, and the CSRs meet, also on the 2nd Thursday of the month at Wilshire United Methodist Church at 4350 Wilshire Blvd. between Plymouth and Lucerne, 90005.
What is a CSR?
Central Service Representatives are elected by the meeting to be the voice of the group and the communication link to and from Los Angeles Central Office. They bring the group conscious when they attend the monthly zone meeting and bring information back to their group.
